Urban Design Week 15-06-2009 - 19-06-2009
Middlesbrough Council ran a series of events as part of there Urban Design week. I attended the workshop in Mima where I worked in a group on the development of St Hilda's, Middlesbrough. I knew a bit about the area having worked on the MyPlace initiative which will form part of this new development. It was interesting to work with a group of professionals all with different disciplines including urban planners, building control and a conservation architect. I also attended a session at Middlesbrough College where we were shown around the building and the developed by the Assistant Principle of the building. Having never been there before I was amazed at the facilities it has to offer. I also took the opportunity with Richard Lotter to explore the Boho development and The St Hilda's areas as well as further into the Middlehaven development. This included visiting Middlesbrough Librairy to look at the exhibition about the regeneration of Middlesbrough.
