Sustees

The deadline for the professional skills and enterprise module is soon approaching and much time has been spent alongside fellow students, Paul Milburn, Chantel Ormorod and Richard Lotter to develop a business plan for a sustainable company. Inspiration was sought from the sustees event which I found extremely interesting.

The sustees event was very thought provoking as it not just made me think about how sustainability fits in my discipline but in everyday life. A surprising talk was the ‘Real nappy’ Project by the real nappy group. I have to confess upon seeing this session I was hesitant and didn’t feel excited about the project. Upon reflection of the talk i thought it was very thought provoking. It is a fine example as how sustainable living can be achieved by all and how sustainable living can also be cost effective. It was also interesting to learn about sustainable companies and communities. The whole conference inspired me to take more care to design sustainably and encouraged a new found passion for green design and encouraged me to continue working alongside collegues and gain inspiration and knowledge from them.
